Our staff levels exceed the Ofsted minimum levels by at least one extra staff member in each room. We have a Manager, Billie, and two Deputy managers, Catherine and Jo and our pre-school room is led by Katie, an Early Years Professional (EYP). All staff receive continuous professional development (CPD) training throughout their time at Minihome.

Selina is the baby room leader, she has worked at minihome for 12 years and understands the anxiety that parents and babies can feel when starting at nursery. She and her team are keen to ensure that this anxiety is short lived as each baby and their family settle in to the nursery.

Emine is the Toddler room leader and has been with us for 41/2 years. She brings warmth, enthusiasm and imagination to the toddler room activities. Toddlers need to move about, get outside, dance and sing. She has a calm approach together with her team to manage the challenges of toddler behaviour.

Emma is the 2+ room leader and first started with us 6 years ago. Along with the fun, energetic activities such as singing and dancing, Emma works with her team to provide the 2 year olds with a clear routine, and support for their growing independence.

Katie (room leader), Sabba, Lauren, Christel
Katie is the 3+ room leader and is also an EYP (Early Years Professional). She joined Minihome in 2014, and together with her team, they focus on supporting children to develop school readiness in our preschool room. Katie is a keen scientist and flute player and encourages children to follow their own interests and passions.

Danielle (kitchen assistant) and Annie (cook)
Annie has been a professional chef for over 20 years. She brings her creative St. Lucian sunshine vibe to all her cooking. Everything is cooked from scratch every day with fresh food and good quality mostly organic ingredients and fresh herbs.
Annie likes to introduce children to a whole range of food like curries, stews, rice dishes, soups, stir fries, fried plantains and dumplings. She makes homemade bread, pizzas and scones for tea. For details of our menus please see here.

Billie set up and has run Minihome for 14 years. She brings a creative vibe, with a progressive open minded approach to childcare. She is thoughtful and caring and dedicated to the continued evolution of the nursery.

High level of ability to provide finely tuned support for each child’s learning, supporting sustained shared thinking.
Ability to write observations of children at play that support our understanding of the child.

This work fits well with people who have other part time or flexible commitments who are seeking to build and maintain their knowledge and ability to work with young children. We are looking for people with a passion and interest in working with children under five years old. Experience working with this age group is preferred. Understanding the importance of close attachment relationships and enjoying tuning into the needs and interests of children is essential.
This post is for people who are bright, energetic, playful and imaginative. Ideally they might also be able to confidently use their knowledge of child development to observe and plan for children as individuals and members of a group. Also to have the ability to evaluate outcomes for children and to reflect on their own practice. A positive open minded approach to situations is essential as is the ability to work on their own initiative if necessary. High standards of professional practice are expected and the willingness to engage in further training. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. * Nursery Assistant
We are offering nursery assistant apprenticships at the Mini Home Nursery in Stoke Newington. This is a great opportunity to get paid to work and study as apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our experienced team working with children and helping them to progress, learn and be happy. We will guide you through your apprenticeship and provide further training with lots of support from experienced staff, we expect you to be motivated, energetic, playful, creative committed and professional.
Work 40 hours per week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8.00am - 6.00pm (hours to be agreed, this includes some hours spent studying at college or studying in work). Study towards Early Years Educator level 3.
We are committed to safeguarding the children in our care so you will be required to actively support us with promoting the wellbeing and safeguarding of the children and adults at all times.
